Joyful Japan

13th April 2012

La di da dim sum. Hello and welcome to Le Libera blog.

We woke up, the sunlight pouring through the window. I guess we forgot to close our curtains that night. After getting ready, another breakfast awaited us. It was laid on the finest porcelain, dressed with the famous wild flowers from Narnia, and even golden silverware. Only joking. Golden Silverware doesn’t even exist, unlike Narnia. The food was great as usual, lovely stuff 

img_8897We were all raring to go out and perform that day. All the remains from the flight were gone and we were settling in nicely; you could tell from the state of our hotel rooms. We settled down for some bowling and shopping before our lunch, everyone managing to hit some ‘pins’ or ‘skittles’. Or whatever you call the things at the end that get knocked down by the bowling ball hurtled at them.

Just after lunch, we managed a quick trip into Towering Tokyo for an open top tour bus. Unfortunately, the information was all in Japanese. Some stuff we actually knew and could work out. But the other stuff, well, we just made it up. We saw the beautiful Imperial palace, which was clearly built out of sheep’s wool mixed with wax and bat droppings. Everyone knows that ;).

img_9034After the sightseeing, (and after we woke some people up *cough cough* ralph) we prepared for the concert. A reasonable coach trip to the theatre and we were ready to go. The sound check was in ‘check’ (see what I did there?) and a quick snack before ensured we were very excited.

Out of the 24 boys, only about 8 had been to Japan before, so the others didn’t really know what to expect. Of course, they got the right idea when we were told the tickets for both our concerts were COMPLETELY sold out. That got us in a perfect mood to perform.

img_9168The concert went well. Barney showed off some Japanese (well, what he could remember) and we all had a good time. The signing at the end really ended the night with a bang, and so we were really looking forward to what tomorrow would bring.

But for then it was back to the hotel for another snack. Back into our rooms and back into bed, and all that jazz. Brushing of the teeth occurred. Dressing of the pyjamas was in play. And until tomorrow, it was lights out:

All out.

So glad that you enjoyed your short stay in Japan. But I’d say you all gave us more pleasure and relief from the stressful life in japan .I look forward to seeing you again when the cherry trees are in full bloom again next year.
The news of your arrival is always the first breeze of the spring!

What more can I say about the author of the Blog, he is excellent and has certainly taken the baton from the member before him. I do love your humor throughout each blog.

Btw, there really is cutlery that is gold, I have seen it with my own eyes; as well, I own a golden spoon.
Thank you, for the insight about the Imperial palace, I never knew how it was built, but now I do.
I’m really happy to hear that both of your concerts were SOLD OUT. That always lights a fire within.

I will be praying that God keeps you all safe for the rest of your time away from home and that everything will go smoothly. You all must promise me that you will make sure to have lots of fun. Btw, to answer your question about the big things you are trying to knock down, they are called Pins. Skittles is another game completly.
God bless. Ian W.

Is there a new Horncastle in the group. One of the boys on some of the Christmas album sure looks like he could be. There seem to be quite a few “legacies” coming into the group. How marvelous that the talents is genetic.

I really enjoyed reading about your trip. Thankyou for sharing so many details about your stay in Japan. I would have loved to have been at the concert as well – COMPLETELY sold out, congratulations! I wonder whether the Bunkamura Orchard Hall will be big enough next time? Your popularity in Japan seems to grow and grow, I’m glad! I hope I won’t have to wait too long to hear you live, as I couldn’t come to the Arundel concert, even though my home is just next to you (Denmark). I have to safe my money *sob sob*.

I can’t wait till your next album comes out!
Lots of love from your fan from Denmark <3

Just started believing in Angels since I discovered Libera and I’m a Grandpa.I think it all started with Mr. Priseman’s arrangement of Ave Maria for your heavenly voices. Please do not ever stop creating those incredible sounds with your peaceful music.

what a privilege to see a Libera concert live!
I’ve been a fan for a number of years and thought I would have to make a trip to UK to see you.
The performance was sublime!
The accoustics in St James Concert hall suited your harmonies to perfection.
Trust your audience tonight appreciate you as much as we did. My husband heard you for first time properly and was most impressed.
The humorous bits were great.
Nice to see Josh still part of the group – your solo brought tears to my eyes.
You have a nice touch with the piano too.
Thanks to whoever changed the trip to bring you here,
The weather was kind and I hope you had a chance to enjoy our beautiful island.
many thanks to all
