Will the Ely 2022 concert be recorded so I can watch it later?

Congratulations on your successful concert last Saturday.

I was very impressed by “the bigs” in the back row. These young gentlemen have been singing in Libera since 2015, or perhaps, even earlier. Their dedication and enthusiasm shone through that evening. Their voices added depth and atmosphere to each piece. It is how this choir sings together and how their voices combine that make Libera special. I wish the young gentlemen are able to carry on singing for as long as they enjoy doing so.

The lead singer in Michael Nyman’s “If” has developed a lower voice and he sang it with an air of resignation and world-weariness that was clearer than before. He conveyed the emotions that befitted the meaning of that piece. That performance was his best interpretation of it so far.

The lead singer in Muramatsu’s “Far Away” sang from his heart and had touched the hearts of his listeners. We were transported to another place where we could find peace in our hearts. I was very lucky to be there.

Thank you for a truly great night. May I wish every performer enjoy making music as much as we enjoy the music that they make.

Thank you for the fantastic concert last weekend! It was such a nice evening in Ely and in addition to the new songs from the excellent last album I especially enjoyed hearing arrangements of the older songs performed by the current boys. “Far Away” was outstanding and I think the choreography of the boys’ arm movements during the wonderful “Salva” was lovely. “Lux Aeterna” at the beginning of the second half of the concert was very touching. Last year, after the sad news of Robert Prizeman passing away, I watched an old TV performance of “Sing For Ever” which was mesmerising. It made me really happy to hear this song at Ely Cathedral. The boys gave a marvelous performance. You should definitely keep this song in your current repertoire.

All in all the combination of songs from different eras of the choir worked great together and it was a wonderful concert. Many thanks to everyone at Libera!
