Well, Marisa and I did make it to London after all! We had wonderful seats at Smith Square thanks to the kindness of staff there and were able to enjoy the beautiful performance. While we were waiting for the start, we had coffee downstairs at the Footstool Cafe and met some of the parents of the boys. It had been a few years since we were in London last and it was great to see the city decked out with Christmas lights. While the Libera concert was the highlight of our trip, we also enjoyed a tour of Westminster Abbey and attended Evensong there. We spent a day in Cambridge and attended Evensong at Kings College Chapel, then the last night we attended the Christmas Concert at Royal Albert Hall with Sir John Rutter (and 5000 guests!) It was an orgy of choral music by the best choirs in the world! Alas, we had to fly back to Alexandria, Virginia to celebrate our own family Christmas after an unforgettable trip!
